This report evaluates a pilot project in Padang, Indonesia, that introduced the digital application to modernise community-based waste banks. The study explores how digital transformation can improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency within a circular economy framework. While the initiative successfully digitised thousands of kilograms of waste, it faced significant hurdles such as low digital literacy among older staff and fragmented institutional reporting requirements. Results indicate that while technology enhances record-keeping and customer trust, its overall success depends on sustained capacity building and supportive government policy. University student volunteers played a vital role in facilitating this transition through hands-on training and technical support. Ultimately, the report suggests integrated collaboration between local authorities, waste banks, and recyclers to scale these digital solutions effectively.
